Trouble  in Tahiti

Nestled in perfect suburbia, down a tree-lined street, past the little red mailboxes, in front of the perfectly manicured lawns, inside a little white house, a young couple sits down to breakfast.  What follows is an intimate portrait of life in the ever-changing world of Post WWII 1950's America.  Presented in conjunction with the Bernstein Centennial, this poignant operetta features some crown jewels from the American Operatic lexicon.

Music, Book, & Lyrics by Leonard Bernstein

Hand to god

After the death of his father, meek Jason finds an outlet for his anxiety at the Christian Puppet Ministry, in the devoutly religious, relatively quiet small town of Cypress, Texas. Jason’s complicated relationships with the town pastor, the school bully, the girl next door, and—most especially—his mother are thrown into upheaval when Jason’s puppet, Tyrone, takes on a shocking and dangerously irreverent personality all its own. HAND TO GOD explores the startlingly fragile nature of faith, morality, and the ties that bind us.

the musical

In the not-so-distant future, a terrible water shortage has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he's had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!

Inspired by the works of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, URINETOWN is an irreverently humorous satire in which no one is safe from scrutiny!  Winner of a slew of awards, including 3 Tonys, URINETOWN is a hilarious musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, municipal politics, and even musical theatre itself!

Praised for reinvigorating the very notion of what a musical could be, URINETOWN catapults the "comedic romp" into the new millennium with its outrageous perspective, wickedly modern wit, and sustained ability to produce gales of unbridled laughter!

spring Awakening

It is Germany, 1891, a world where the grown-ups hold all the cards. The beautiful young Wendla explores the mysteries of her body and wonders aloud where babies come from... until Mama tells her to shut it and put on a proper dress. Elsewhere, the brilliant and fearless young Melchior interrupts a mind-numbing Latin drill to defend his buddy, Moritz – a boy so traumatized by puberty that he can't concentrate on anything. For these curious, rebellious, and sexually frustrated teenagers, it really is a "bitch of living"...

The winner of 8 Tony Awards,  SPRING AWAKENING explores the journey from adolescence to adulthood with a poignancy and passion that is illuminating and unforgettable. The landmark musical is an electrifying fusion of morality, sexuality and rock-n-roll that has exhilarating audiences across the nation like no other musical in years.

Based on the play "Spring Awakening" by Frank Wedekind
