Bound by Hatred Episode Guide

1. EP 1: Defiance at the Altar

Gianna Scuderi watches her sister Aria marry the mafia Capo Luca, fearing she will be forced into an arranged marriage next. Earlier that day, Gianna pleaded with Aria to run away, but Aria stayed to shield Gianna from taking her place. At the reception, their father Rocco Scuderi orders Gianna to dance with wealthy arms dealers. Gianna chooses death over being sold off. Rocco raises his hand to strike her. Matteo Vitiello suddenly throws two switchblades, pinning her sleeves to the chair.

2. EP 2: The God of Blades

Gianna sits pinned to the armchair while Matteo Vitiello approaches with a mock apology. An elder mafia man scolds Gianna, telling her to show respect to Matteo, the second-in-command of the Famiglia and a master with knives. Once the older man walks off, Matteo taunts Gianna about dodging the dance floor. He yanks the switchblade out to free her from the armchair. Matteo then leans in close to her lips and asks what she intends to give him in return.

3. EP 3: Daggers on the Dance Floor

Matteo insists on taking Gianna's hand for a dance under the guise of keeping other men away. Out on the floor, their exchange turns into a tense physical confrontation. Both hide blades behind their backs while trading cutting remarks. Gianna questions his reputation with knives, while Matteo warns he is not afraid to quiet her. The dance shifts into a dangerous power struggle. Matteo pulls her close, touching her intimately and asking if she has ever been touched before.

4. EP 4: A Blade to the Throat

Matteo takes Gianna's small knife and slips it into his waistband to provoke her. She steps close to win it back. Guests hurry down the stairs, announcing that Luca beat an intruder and intends to take Aria upstairs. Gianna rushes to rescue her sister, but Matteo grabs her and insists it is Aria's duty as a wife. Gianna fires back that real men do not force women into bed. She snatches her switchblade and presses it straight against Matteo's neck.

5. EP 5: Ambush in the Bedroom

Gianna breaks away from dancing and heads upstairs to locate Aria. She questions two Famiglia men on the staircase, and they lure her into an empty bedroom. The thugs shut the doors behind her, blocking her escape. Gianna defends herself by kicking one man in the groin, but the other attacker slams her hard against the wall. Matteo bursts through the double doors, throws his dagger across the room, and pins the attacker's hand to the wall, spilling blood onto Gianna.

6. EP 6: Monsters in the Dark

Matteo stabs the fallen attacker with a dagger and learns the men tried to assault Gianna. Enraged, he pulls off his belt and brutally lashes the man pinned to the wall. Gianna pulls him back, shouting that he is a monster just like the rest of the mafia men. She flees barefoot out toward the estate porch. Matteo runs after her and corners her against the door frame. Gianna demands to know what he wants, and Matteo admits he wants to kiss her.

7. EP 7: The First Kiss

Gianna and Matteo stand in the hallway trading heated words about the strict rules governing their world. Gianna explains she is forbidden from kissing anyone until she is married off to a violent mobster. She refuses to save her first kiss for a future husband chosen by her family. Deciding to break the rules on her own terms, Gianna tells Matteo to stop talking and kiss her. Matteo pulls her in, and the two share an intense, passionate kiss.

8. EP 8: A Taste of Blood

After their kiss ends, Matteo asks for another. Gianna laughs it off, claiming she only kissed him because she wanted to do something forbidden, and promises she will never do it again. Matteo touches her thigh and mentions other forbidden acts, but she swats his hand away. He suggests asking her father for her hand in marriage instead. Matteo pulls her into another kiss, but Gianna bites his lip hard enough to draw blood before pulling back defiantly.

9. EP 9: A Chosen Bride

Matteo corners Gianna outside the estate, insisting neither of them can escape mafia traditions. Gianna demands freedom, swears she will never marry him, and shoves past him, dropping a high heel on the ground. Matteo retrieves the shoe and vows to prove her wrong. Inside, he finds his brother Luca strapping on gun holsters after his wedding night. Matteo announces that he has chosen his future bride, telling a stunned Luca that he intends to marry Gianna.

10. EP 10: A Cruel Bargain

Luca warns Matteo that Rocco Scuderi will never consent to the union if he realizes Matteo actually cares for Gianna. Matteo concocts a deception. He decides they will tell Rocco that he wants to marry Gianna to punish her, put her in her place, and make her life miserable. He believes her father will hand her over without complaint under those terms. Luca cautions that Gianna will ruin his life, but Matteo declares he will make Gianna his wife.

11. EP 11: Midnight Intrusion

Months pass, and Gianna finds herself unable to sleep in her bedroom. She rises to check the window, where the night breeze moves the curtains. Matteo emerges from behind the drapes, stepping behind her to grip her waist and neck. Gianna asks what he is doing in her room. Matteo confesses he has thought of her constantly since the night they kissed. He pushes her down onto the bed, kissing and touching her passionately as the late-night encounter escalates.
