The story pulls no punches from the opening minutes. Gianna is an heiress who works at an adult novelty shop after being disowned. One night, she takes a delivery order to room 2246 at the Emperor Hotel. When the door opens, her fiancé Henry Luther stands there without a shirt on. He is cheating on her with another woman in a red nightgown. Gianna drops the cash, calls the police on him for illegal drugs and prostitution, and walks downstairs to slap him right in front of the press.
The fallout only gets messier. It turns out the woman in the hotel room was Emily, Gianna's younger sister. When Gianna goes to her family mansion, her stepmother Tracy and her father scream at her for creating a public scandal. Henry admits he loves Emily and feels no regret. Gianna does not cry in front of them. Instead, she trades her breakup for the company his family just acquired. Then she walks out with her head high.
Heartbroken beneath her tough exterior, Gianna heads to a bar to drink whiskey. Emily calls to brag about being pregnant with Henry's baby. Henry's sister Sandy shows up to mock and harass her. Gianna tries to hide in a men's restroom and runs into Logan, an icy billionaire tycoon. She collapses into his arms, and he ends up driving her home. That ride changes everything.
