Stephanie sits on the floor with cake on her face while Alexander glares at her. A flashback to sixteen years ago reveals Aria Sims pleading with doctors to save her baby before dying in childbirth. Morris collapses in grief outside. Four years later, Morris ignores young Stephanie when she falls, but little Alexander comforts her. In the present, a red-haired girl urges Alexander to leave. He orders Stephanie to move, knocking her hospital report onto the ground.

Episode 2 Scene by Scene

  1. 00:00: Glaring at Stephanie

    Stephanie remains on the floor covered in smashed cake. Alexander looms over her with cold eyes. Stephanie reflects to herself on the deep hatred her family has held against her for her entire life.

  2. 00:10: Aria Gives Birth

    Sixteen years ago, Aria Sims lies in a delivery room begging the doctor to save her unborn child. She gives birth to a baby girl, smiles at her newborn infant, and dies right there on the bed.

  3. 00:39: Morris Collapses in Grief

    Outside the delivery room, the doctor meets Young Morris Sims in the hallway. The doctor reports that the newborn daughter is healthy, but Aria has died. Overcome by grief, Morris drops to his knees on the hospital floor.

  4. 00:58: A Brother's Lollipop

    Four-year-old Stephanie trips and scrapes her forehead on a walkway. Her father walks away without stopping. Six-year-old Alexander rushes over, gives her a sweet lollipop, applies a bandage to her head, and wraps her in a warm hug.

  5. 01:26: Dropping the Diagnosis

    A red-haired girl clings to Alexander and begs him to leave with her. Alexander harshly orders Stephanie out of his way. As he shoves past, Stephanie drops her medical diagnosis paperwork straight onto the floor.
