Solist asks Sienna for a clear explanation after she tells him to stay away from Harrington's money. Sienna holds back the truth and rushes out of their apartment. Outside on the steps, her smartwatch displays a plot deviation spike to forty-six percent. Sienna wonders what happens at one hundred percent. She returns inside, sees Solist sleeping at the table, and takes his pen after reading his note.
Solist demands a genuine explanation from Sienna about rejecting Harrington's funds. He lists how she blocked Julian and watched him from the cafe. Sienna almost speaks the truth, stops herself, and storms out of the apartment into the night.
Sienna sits alone on the exterior steps in the dark. Her smartwatch alerts her that the novel's plot deviation has jumped to forty-six percent. She sits outside and questions what will occur once the number reaches one hundred percent.
Sienna walks back inside the apartment and finds Solist asleep at the work table. She picks up a handwritten note where he promises to listen to her reasons next time. Sienna carefully removes the pen from his hand.
“Why? Give me the real reason. You blocked Julian, I let it slide. You know exactly who owes who, I didn't press you. Sienna, you sat on the second floor of that cafe watching me all afternoon, I didn't say a word. But now you're telling me to walk away from the only door that didn't just slam in my face and you're giving me absolutely nothing.”
“Every time I push Solist away, the number jumps. One day it's gonna hit 100. And when that day comes, is it gonna be her or me?”
Sienna finds Solist asleep at the table and reads his handwritten promise to listen to her reasons next time. She gently takes the pen from his fingers. Will Sienna finally open up about the novel's plot, or will the rising deviation number drive an even deeper wedge between them?
