Seraphina finds her mother's cherished ocarina missing from her belongings. She takes a whip to the courtyard garden and confronts Isolde, who deliberately drops the porcelain instrument onto the stone and crushes the pieces under her slipper. Furious, Seraphina swings her whip. Cassian steps between them with his drawn sword to protect Isolde. His blade slashes Seraphina deeply across her abdomen. As Seraphina collapses into his arms bleeding, Cassian is suddenly hit with a startling memory from their past-life wedding, leaving him confused and shaken.
