Grace pulls away and tends to Lily on the floor. Derek shrugs off Lily's bruises, so Grace slaps him across the face. She picks up Lily and heads out into the pouring rain. Derek runs after them onto the porch, threatening that Grace has no money and counting down three seconds for her to beg. Grace remembers an earlier abuser who hurt her while pregnant, and recalls Derek promising back then to protect them. She tells Derek they are finished for good. Blinding headlights suddenly cut through the dark night and hit them.
