Veronica joins the garden party and confronts Felicia, who claims Veronica stole the estate with a single signature. Veronica reminds her that her pathetic act will not work here. To display her control as lady of the house, Veronica announces she will pick out a rich husband to shelter Felicia. Felicia screams in protest, so Veronica drags her over to the edge of the stone terrace and pushes her straight into the pool.
