Soledad Gonzalez wakes at five-thirty in the morning to shoulder pain from ten years of courier work. She quietly gets dressed in her basement apartment so she does not wake her son Harvey. Five years ago, her mother died of cancer and warned her not to stay alone in life. Soledad heats leftover tortillas and drinks cold coffee before writing a note that says Be happy today for Harvey's lunch box. She heads out into the cold, keeping up a quiet routine despite receiving no replies.
