Elara kneels to present the ring box. Princess Selene slides the black dragon ring onto Kael's hand while attendees insult his past human lover. As Elara turns away, she stumbles into a crystal goblet tower. A nobleman in green chokes her, and Selene orders her thrown into the dungeon. Elara begs for her sick child Mia. Kael orders the guards to let her go, and her veil drops to uncover her identity.
Elara kneels on the terrace to present the box. Princess Selene slips the obsidian dragon ring onto Kael's hand. Around them, party guests cheer for the couple while openly ridiculing the human woman who deserted Kael years ago.
Elara turns to depart and crashes into a tower of crystal glasses. The glassware shatters across the floor. An angry nobleman in green grabs her throat and throws her down. Princess Selene commands the guards to lock her away.
Guards drag a weeping Elara toward the cells while she pleads to return to Mia. Kael intervenes and tells the guards to release her. As they let go, her veil slips away. Both Kael and Princess Selene see her face.
“A lifetime of labor wouldn't pay for a single glass. Guards, throw her in the dungeon.”
“No, please let me go! Mia needs me, I can't leave her alone.”
“Enough. Let her go.”
“Elara Vale?”
The veil falls, uncovering Elara before the assembled court. Kael's eyes glow dragon-gold as he speaks her name in disbelief, and Princess Selene gasps in shock at seeing Elara Vale. How will Kael react now that the woman who broke his heart stands defenseless right in front of him?
