He decides to break his betrothal to Lillian, but his master kicks him straight through a portal to the mortal world.
Matthew crashes into a pile of straw in a mortal town, dressed like a simple traveler. Right away, royal dragons fly overhead with emergency decrees. Dragon Emperor Caus Drake is dying from a mysterious ailment, and his daughters are desperate for help. First Princess Emma offers royal treasures, her hand in marriage, and the throne to anyone who can cure her father. People scoff at Matthew when he steps forward with his plain wooden staff, calling him a tramp and a low-level mage. Yet behind his humble look, Matthew possesses the power to break ancient blood curses and restore ruined magic.

The horned dragon princess receives three renowned figures in the royal bedchamber. Ariel Powell tries her elven life magic on comatose Emperor Kaus Drake, but the spell fails immediately. Elene Rowe tries her dark witchcraft, yet her magic fails as well. Priestess Sienna opens her glowing Holy Scripture and summons an angelic form above the bed to cleanse the sickness. Before the holy light touches the emperor, a green magic blast knocks the spell away. Matthew strides through the doorway with his staff. He warns the room that Sienna will shatter the emperor's soul.
EP 4: A Low-Level Mage
Princess Emma attacks Matthew with dragon flame. Sienna leaps forward and blocks the strike with her healed tail, insisting Matthew can save their father. An elf woman checks Matthew's mana and mocks him as a low-level human mage with almost no power. Emma orders the guards to break his limbs and drag him outside. Sienna pleads for Matthew once more. Olivia begs Matthew to cure her father before her sister orders his execution. The visiting healers push back with fury, accusing Matthew of staging a scam. Emma steps forward and questions Matthew about his motives. Matthew refuses to argue. He tells the princess to trust him or let him walk away. Moved by Olivia's pleas, Emma backs down and asks Matthew to proceed. Matthew sets two strict conditions for the ritual. He demands a large bathing pool, and he insists that Emma join him inside. The unusual request leaves the entire room in disbelief.
EP 7: Essence of the Dragon
The attendants and royal guests confront Matthew in the hall, accusing him of indecent plans with Princess Emma. Matthew clarifies his intentions calmly. Breaking the Evernight Blood Curse requires dragon essence from a direct blood relative. The pool will keep the dragon's body cool during extraction. Hearing this, Princess Olivia volunteers her own essence to heal her father. The attendants threaten Matthew with death if harm comes to Olivia. Matthew and Olivia enter the bath chamber alone. Matthew begins taking off his shirt for the ritual. Olivia watches him in extreme panic.
EP 8: Breaking the Seal
Matthew warns Olivia that her essence will ignite her clothes once drawn. She shifts into her scaled dragon form and enters the water. He touches her belly and summons her dragon essence into a glowing orb. Olivia gasps as the extraction strains her body. Matthew directs the essence into a Great Sage runic circle. He fires the energy at floating Dragon Emperor Caus. Dark cursed vapor pours from the emperor's face. Outside, a guard warns that Olivia might lose her dragon form. The anxious clan hears her cries and prepares to break down the door.
EP 9: The Shattered Door
A noblewoman in white claims Matthew is a fraud trying to harm Princess Olivia. A horned knight draws his blade to kill the traveler. The dragon princess hesitates. She remembers Matthew's warning that interrupting the ritual will destroy the emperor's soul. Then Olivia screams through the door that the magic is burning her.
