Mia walks into their room carrying a bag of pastries. She asks Rhea to climb down and share them, but Rhea politely says no. A text from Ethan arrives, asking if someone brought her the meal. Rhea reflects on the past instead of replying. She remembers Ethan rejecting her confession, then handing her breakfast, and buying another girl flowers. Rhea sets down her phone, determined to stop playing his game.
Mia enters the dorm room holding a bag of pastries. She invites Rhea to climb down from her bed to share the food. Rhea turns down the offer, and Ethan sends Rhea a text message asking if someone delivered it.
Rhea recalls Ethan bringing her breakfast the morning after rejecting her confession. She remembers him giving flowers to a peer at an art showcase before walking Rhea home, and assuring Rhea's parents that he would look after their daughter.
Rhea lies in bed and realizes Ethan kept her on the hook because losing her would be a shame. She sets her phone down on the mattress. Then she tells herself it is finally time to wake up.
“Rhea, you're not coming down for a bite?”
“Had someone drop something off for you. Did you eat?”
“One hand slapped, the other fed me candy. And I ate it right up.”
“Rhea, you lovesick idiot. It's time to wake up.”
Rhea puts her phone down on the bed with a serious expression, completely finished with chasing Ethan. She commits to ending her unrequited infatuation for good. Will Rhea stick to her decision and ignore Ethan's future attempts to keep her close, or will his familiar habits pull her back in?
