Seraya Miller wakes up as a mermaid in an underwater palace. Head maid Nyla conducts a caretaker trial for the crying merbaby prince Morris, dismissing Seraya for having no magic. When maids hold Morris down to force potion on him, Seraya’s system activates and translates his cries. Seraya dodges an armed guard and pulls a sharp golden pin from Morris's back. Sea King Talen arrives and holds an ice blade to her throat.

Episode 1 Scene by Scene

  1. 00:00: Awakening in the Underwater Palace

    A black-tailed merbaby weeps inside a shell cradle. Seraya Miller opens her eyes and discovers her human body has changed into a mermaid. She looks around the underwater palace hall as the distressed infant continues to cry nearby.

  2. 00:10: Nyla Dismisses the New Mermaid

    Palace head maid Nyla announces the caretaker selection trial for prince Morris. She mocks Seraya for having no ocean magic and lacking glowing ear-fins. Nyla commands Seraya to step back from the other candidates who are competing.

  3. 01:00: The Failed Potion Feeding

    A caretaker candidate tries to force a bottle of potion into Morris's mouth. The little prince violently shoves her away. In response, Nyla orders the other palace maids to pin Morris down and force the drink down his throat.

  4. 01:12: The Cub Voice System Activates

    Seraya hears Morris crying out in pain about a sharp needle caught in his scales. The Young Cub's Inner Voice system suddenly activates inside her mind. The ability allows her to comprehend any merbaby under the age of three.

  5. 01:35: Extracting the Hidden Pin

    Seraya runs forward to halt the maids. An armored royal guard blocks her path with a trident, but she ducks beneath it. She extracts a bleeding golden seahorse pin from Morris's back scales, and the baby falls asleep.

  6. 02:21: Confrontation with the Sea King

    Sea King Talen descends into the hall. Nyla accuses Seraya of touching royalty and demands execution. Talen presses a sharp ice blade against Seraya's neck, but Seraya insists on treating the wounded little prince before anything happens to her.
