Caleb holds Claire and Mia's hands as they flee through ruined city streets at dusk. They take shelter inside an abandoned RV. Claire builds a campfire outside, and Caleb shares beef rations with the sisters. Mia cleans and bandages his bleeding arm. Moments later, Claire pulls Caleb into the dark woods and tackles him, offering herself so he spares Mia. Then, EDEN-07 alerts Caleb to a third compatible companion crawling in the dirt.
Caleb grips Claire and Mia by the hand as they rush through destroyed city streets. The sun sets behind them. Caleb's arm bleeds from the escape, while Claire and Mia quietly take note of his actions during their flight.
The group arrives at an abandoned RV. Mia counts their canned goods, and Claire starts a campfire. Caleb shares a can of beef with the sisters. Mia bandages his injured arm while they introduce themselves and share their past roles.
Claire drags Caleb into the woods and pushes him down, offering herself so he will leave Mia alone. Before Caleb responds, the EDEN-07 system detects a third compatible survivor. A starving pink-haired girl crawls out of the bushes.
“Thank you for saving us. I'm Mia. I used to be a nurse.”
“Caleb Stone. I'm just a scavenger.”
“I know food isn't free. Please leave my sister alone. I'll repay you myself.”
“Third compatible target detected.”
Claire pins Caleb to the ground in the forest, offering her own body to protect Mia. Their tense confrontation cuts short when the EDEN-07 system sounds an alarm. A pink-haired girl crawls toward them, starving and pleading for food. Will Caleb feed this new stranger, or will Claire drive her away?
