Claire straddles Caleb outside the RV and unbuttons her shirt to pay him back. Caleb stops her hands and explains he only saved them so they could survive. Her affection score rises on his screen. A starving girl named Alice crawls from the grass, triggering a one-minute rescue mission. Caleb carries Alice inside and feeds her canned food. The system marks the mission complete and drops a hot steak on the table.
Claire climbs on Caleb and starts undoing her top. Caleb halts her and states he wanted them to stay alive. Claire's affection rises on his HUD. Then, Alice Bennett crawls out of the grass, starting a sixty-second rescue timer.
Caleb carries Alice into the RV before the clock expires and feeds her canned food. The binding succeeds. A freshly cooked premium steak suddenly appears on the table, stunning Alice, Claire, and Mia Hale as they gather around it.
“You saved Mia and me. Tell me what you want.”
“Stop. You think I'm Silas? I didn't save you so you'd take your clothes off for me. I saved you because I wanted you both to live.”
“Third compatible target detected. Alice Bennett, age twenty. Complete rescue and binding within one minute.”
“I'm starting to like this world a little more.”
Caleb finishes the rescue before the timer runs out. The system responds by placing a freshly grilled steak onto the camper table. Alice, Claire, and Mia stare at the hot food in pure shock.
