After being evicted by his angry Landlady, Charlie is left broke on the street with twelve cents. A flyer offering thirty thousand dollars per shift blows onto his arm. He goes to the museum, crushes a petrified head, and signs a blood contract with Eve. Later, an ancient sword cuts his finger during rounds. At midnight, the mummy Pharook attacks him as a new system interface loads.
The Landlady throws Charlie into the rainy street after he maxes out his credit card and misses rent. He checks his pockets and finds twelve cents. A windblown flyer advertising a thirty-thousand-dollar night guard post sticks directly to his arm.
Charlie enters the museum main hall to apply. Eve kicks a severed stone head from the previous guard toward him. Charlie crushes the head under his boot, signs the blood contract, and receives the museum rule manual from Eve.
Charlie explores the weapons gallery during his patrol. He touches an ancient sword and accidentally cuts his finger. His blood drips onto runes carved into the metal, activating a mysterious system. Eve watches him from the shadows with a smile.
Charlie reads the rulebook warning to avoid the Egyptian gallery at midnight. The clock strikes twelve, and the mummy Pharook awakens to tackle him to the floor. In the struggle, the system finishes loading and projects the mummy's weakness.
“You maxed out your credit card and got a crushing debt, you asshole! Get your ass outta my apartment!”
“Just so you know, the exhibits in this place aren't always as dead as they look.”
“What the hell is this? What system?”
Pharook pins Charlie to the floor and prepares to tear him apart. Just as the mummy strikes, a glowing screen appears before Charlie's eyes, displaying the monster's vital weakness. Charlie reacts in shock to the sudden interface. Can he use the system's data to survive Pharook's assault?
