Episode: 1
Luke Wayland and Aria Thorne kiss in the backseat of a car until Eli calls him. Luke tells Eli to speak Italian so Aria cannot understand. Eli questions Luke about marrying Sophia in secret. In response, Luke tells Eli to draft a fake marriage agreement to trick Aria. Luke then claims he has a work emergency and orders Aria out of the car. Aria asks him a question in Italian and cries alone on the hillside.
Luke and Aria sit together inside a luxury car at night. The two lean in and share an intimate kiss in the backseat. Their romantic moment cuts short when Luke's phone rings with an incoming call from his associate Eli.
Luke answers Eli's call and immediately tells him to speak Italian so Aria will not understand. Eli confronts Luke about secretly marrying Sophia. Luke refuses to call off the deception and tells Eli to prepare a fake marriage agreement for Aria.
Luke ends the phone call with Eli. He turns to Aria and invents an excuse about a sudden work crisis that requires his presence. Instead of taking her home, Luke instructs Aria to exit the car and find a taxi alone.
Aria steps out onto the chilly hillside street overlooking the city. She asks Luke in Italian when he will return. Luke dismisses her, tells her not to wait up, and drives away. Aria weeps, secretly knowing Italian and understanding everything.
“Non qui. Parla in italiano.”
“Hai davvero sposato Sophia? Hai perso la vista per salvarla, e lei ti ha abbandonato per un altro uomo. E adesso scegli di tornare da lei?”
“Farò in modo che Aria non lo scopra mai.”
“No one knows I learned Italian for Luke a long time ago. So every word he said to Eli... I understood.”
Luke speeds away in his car and leaves Aria stranded on a dark hillside road in the cold. Aria stands by herself in tears, having comprehended every Italian word about his secret marriage to Sophia and the fake agreement. What will Aria do now that she knows the full extent of Luke's betrayal?
