Security holds Cynthia in the hallway while Ethan scolds her. Ethan grips Kelly's hand and uses it to slap Cynthia across the face. Employees whisper as Ethan walks away with Kelly. A colleague helps Cynthia stand up as she wipes blood from her mouth. Later, Cynthia enters Ethan's office. Ethan gives her ointment and offers five percent more company shares. Cynthia takes the shares and hands Ethan her resignation letter.
Guards restrain Cynthia in the hallway while Ethan reprimands her. Ethan takes Kelly's hand and strikes Cynthia across the cheek. Ethan puts his arm around Kelly and walks away. Nearby staff members watch the attack and gossip about Ethan's harsh behavior.
Cynthia stands in the corridor with a bleeding lip. A colleague steps forward and helps steady her on her feet. Cynthia wipes away the blood. She makes up her mind to leave the company and make Ethan pay for his actions.
Cynthia carries documents into Ethan's office. Ethan hands her ointment for her swollen cheek and provides a share contract with an extra five percent. Cynthia accepts the equity papers, pulls out her formal resignation form, and slides it to Ethan.
“Let me teach you how to slap.”
“Kelly is the future Mrs. Graham. As her secretary, serving her is only right.”
“Ethan, you're going to regret this. I will make you pay the price.”
“I also have an agreement here that needs your signature.”
Cynthia takes the revised equity agreement offering extra shares, then places her resignation notice directly in front of Ethan. Ethan stares down at the resignation document with genuine shock on his face. Will Ethan actually sign the paperwork and let Cynthia leave, or will he find another way to force his former lover to stay?
