Grace returns home late, where Jonathan questions her whereabouts and demands she finish her manuscript. While he sleeps, Grace stays up through the night compiling drafts, contracts, and notes into a thirty-page document titled The Silenced Writers. She sends the report to investigative journalist Melissa. In the middle of the night, Grace's phone buzzes on the desk with an incoming call from Melissa.
