Lina tries to walk out of the office, but Kael pulls off her shoe and finds a bomb. She rejects his warning and exits with Bella. Julian Ashbourne explains that health insurance companies, the Volkov Group, and syndicates want her dead over her S Drug. Kael agrees to guard her. Later, Lina accepts a banquet invitation from Mr. Wes. In the parking garage, she finds Kael in her car, and an assassin opens fire.
Lina attempts to leave the office to reject the marriage deal. Kael grabs her and pulls off her high heel to uncover a hidden timed bomb. Lina calls it a cheap stunt and walks out the door with Bella.
Julian Ashbourne informs Kael that insurance corporations, mafia groups, and the Volkov Group want Lina dead. Her affordable S Drug threatens their business. Kael promises to protect Lina's life while respecting her personal choices about their proposed engagement.
Lina works at her desk inside her private office. Her phone rings with a call from Mr. Wes. He invites her to attend a banquet later that evening, and Lina agrees to come to the event.
Lina enters her vehicle in the underground garage and discovers Kael sitting beside her. As she argues with him, a concealed assassin fires through the glass. Kael immediately throws his body over Lina to block the incoming gunfire.
“Just as I thought. A miniature timed bomb. But someone removed the detonator. Who did that?”
“This is just one of your little tricks. Don't think you can fool me.”
“The S Drug Lina is developing has a lot of people desperate to get their hands on it. But the greatest danger still comes from the health insurance companies.”
“I'm warning you punk, stay away from me. I don't need a con artist protecting me.”
An assassin fires bullets straight through the car window in the underground garage. Kael reacts in a split second and wraps his arms around Lina to protect her from the gunshots. Will Kael survive the bullets, and will Lina finally accept that real killers are hunting her down?
