Episode: 9
Trapped in the Blight Marsh, Lyra casts a blood-and-fire spell to escape the strangling vines. She summons a golden bow, obliterates the massive swamp creature, and collapses. Queen Gabriela tends to Lyra inside a flying carriage as Lyra renounces the princes. Later at the palace, the Queen displays magnificent gifts and a heartscale sent by Dragon King Valerius. Rowan and Kaleb fly down and demand answers.
Lyra uses a blood-and-fire incantation to tear through the constricting vines. She conjures a radiant golden bow and arrow, fires at the colossal swamp monster, and completely destroys it. Lyra then drops to the marsh ground from pure exhaustion.
Inside a flying carriage, Queen Gabriela bandages Lyra's injuries and apologizes for her sons leaving her behind. Lyra states that her mate bond with the princes no longer exists. She tells the Queen she only wants to live freely.
A palace guard intercepts Rowan and Kaleb in the hallway to report that Lyra survived the marsh. The brothers fear Lyra will sway their mother against Blair. They immediately spread their wings and take to the sky.
Queen Gabriela shows Lyra vast betrothal treasures and a luminous heartscale provided by Dragon King Valerius on the palace lawn. Rowan and Kaleb suddenly touch down on the grass, shouting at Lyra to name the person she plans to marry.
“The bond is gone, and so is the girl who loved them. Let them have Blair. I just want my freedom.”
“Once you marry him, Dragon King Valerius will give you the respect and power you deserve.”
“He sent this too. His heartscale. A dragon's ultimate token of devotion.”
“Lyra! Who are you marrying? Answer us!”
Rowan and Kaleb drop out of the sky and confront Lyra and their mother on the palace lawn. Surrounded by the Dragon King's lavish betrothal gifts, the princes furiously demand to know who she is marrying. Will Lyra reveal her planned wedding to Dragon King Valerius, or will Queen Gabriela silence her sons?
