Rohan's mistress in a silk robe demands the territory access card, and Rohan insists Chloe must leave. Chloe's hidden Alpha powers awaken, lighting her eyes and wrist crest pure white. She tosses the card on the floor and gives the mistress a cold warning.
Chloe goes into the walk-in closet and unlocks her safe. Inside, she finds an empty jewelry box where her family heirloom belongs. Chloe turns and directly asks Rohan where the Moonborn Emerald is, causing him to instantly take a defensive stance.
“If you refuse to leave, you'll be the one who destroys this family.”
“Wear something your blood has no claim to, and it may burn you.”
“Where is the Moonborn Emerald?”
“Chloe, don't be angry. I didn't have a choice.”
Chloe stares down Rohan after discovering her mother's Moonborn Emerald missing from the safe. Rohan instantly panics and insists that he had no choice, giving away his guilt before she says anything else.
