Adrian's Mother stops Nora in the hallway and demands her sapphire pendant. She claims the item belonged to the Russo trust two decades ago. In the salon, she inserts the pendant into an antique silver chest. The lid opens to reveal a baby portrait marked with Nora's mother's initials. Adrian questions the portrait, but his mother shuts the container. Guards take Nora away and seal her inside the locked penthouse elevator.
In the corridor, Adrian's Mother orders staff to cut the blue jewel from Nora's chest. She insists it is a lost Russo heirloom from twenty years ago. Then she commands the guards to drag Nora into the private salon for testing.
Adrian's Mother carries the jewelry piece to the conference table in the salon. She inserts the sapphire directly into the lock of an antique silver box. The mechanism turns smoothly, popping open the Russo family trust container right before Nora.
Adrian looks at a baby photograph inside the chest bearing the necklace. The back reads "E.H. / R-07. DO NOT REGISTER AS DEAD." Nora identifies the initials as her mother. Adrian's Mother abruptly shuts the lid and forbids Nora from leaving tonight.
A bodyguard grabs Nora by the arms and drags her toward the elevator doors. He swipes an access card across the digital sensor. The elevator panel flashes with red text reading "PENTHOUSE ACCESS LOCKED / NORA VALE," trapping her on the floor.
“It is a trust piece the Russo house lost twenty years ago.”
“E.H. is my mother.”
“Why is the baby in that photo wearing her pendant?”
“Because some dead names should never be woken.”
The guards hold Nora fast by the elevator while the lock system registers her name on screen. Adrian's Mother ensures that her prisoner cannot escape into the city tonight.
