Leo confirms it, grabs her face, and violently strikes her cheek.
Champagne runs down Serena Bennett's skin while the crowd laughs at her. Jade stands nearby with a bottle, insults her, and boasts that Leo will pay for any drink she decides to order.
Leo tells Serena that she must settle her own restaurant bill before leaving. Nearby attendees laugh and mock her openly, pointing out that she has nothing to her name without the backing of the Wagner family.
Leo steps forward and addresses the entire dining room directly. He announces that any guest who attempts to pay Serena's bill tonight is actively making an enemy of both him and the entire Wagner family.
Serena confronts Leo, asking if he is truly subjecting her to this humiliation just for Jade. Leo admits his motives without hesitation. He immediately grabs Serena by the face and slaps her across the cheek.
“You useless loser. You loved watching people get stuck with a bill they couldn't pay, right? Leo's got me now. I could open every bottle here and he'd still pay for my bill.”
“Whoever pays her bill tonight is going against me and against the entire Wagners.”
“Leo, are you really doing this to me over Jade?”
“What else? Right, I'm doing it for Jade.”
Leo strikes Serena across the face in front of the entire crowd, leaving her crying with blood trickling from her lip. No guest dares to step forward to assist her after Leo's threat. How will Serena survive this public trap when her husband has turned everyone against her?
