Marcus rebukes Sarah for making an issue out of Christmas Eve and leaves the house with Emma. Alone, Sarah throws away the morning meal and reads Marcus's cold text message regarding his mother's group. Later, Marcus and Emma return from their shopping spree. Emma steps forward holding a rare designer bag that Sarah once requested. She then announces that they brought back a present for Sarah as well.
Marcus consoles Emma at the dining table and turns on Sarah. He criticizes Sarah for causing trouble over Christmas Eve. He claims she fails to act like a Don's wife, dismisses her frustration, and walks out the door with Emma.
Left alone, Sarah scrapes the untouched breakfast plates directly into the garbage. She checks her phone and reads a detached message from Marcus concerning his mother's family group chat. Standing in the quiet kitchen, she reflects on how unappreciated she is.
Marcus and Emma walk back into the house carrying their new purchases. Emma flaunts a rare designer handbag that Sarah had wanted for herself. Moving toward the dining table, Emma looks directly at Sarah and declares that they bought her a gift as well.
“Know your place Sarah. Just because I spent yesterday with instead of you, you have to make a scene? You're not dying, it's not like this was your last Christmas Eve. I can spend it with you next year.”
“I'll take you out forget her. She doesn't act like a Don's wife at all.”
“Sarah we got you something too.”
Emma walks toward the dining table with the luxury handbag Sarah always wanted. She smiles and tells Sarah that she and Marcus brought home a present for her. What kind of gift did they actually bring, and will Sarah accept it or finally reveal that she is leaving Marcus?
