In the living room, Nate coldly informs Sarah that Brittany is his true fated mate. He calls off their wedding on the spot. Sarah reacts with shock and fury, ordering him to leave immediately. That night, she stays awake alone in bed and weeps over losing to Brittany. As morning comes, Sarah remembers meeting eighteen-year-old Nate at a pack banquet where everyone celebrated him as the future Alpha.
Nate stands in the living room and tells Sarah that Brittany is his real fated mate. He states that the wedding is off. Sarah takes in the shocking news, feels completely heartbroken, and angrily orders him to get out immediately.
