I just finished watching Betrayed by the Alpha, Betrothed to the Dragon King here on Stillpointe, and the story hooks you immediately. Seraphina is a pureblood Sunfire Elf Princess who thinks she has found true love with Lycan King Alaric. That hope shatters when she discovers he is merely using her as a pawn during an upcoming war with the dragons, intending to reject her and give everything to her adopted stepsister, Vesper.
Alaric's betrayal runs deep because he believes Vesper pulled him out of the Shattered Sea years ago. In reality, Seraphina plunged into the storm to save his life. Vesper simply stole Seraphina's dragon scale necklace and took credit for the rescue. Rather than endure more abuse from her father Cyrus and her deceitful sister, Seraphina takes control of her own fate.
When heralds arrive demanding an elf princess to marry Dragon King Darius, Vesper refuses in terror. Seraphina steps forward and makes a pact. She agrees to take Vesper's place and wed Darius, while Vesper prepares to marry Alaric. She reclaims her mother's heritage, bides her time through brutal trials, and plans a stunning wedding swap. Betrayed by the Alpha, Betrothed to the Dragon King Episode Guide
EP 1: A Royal Decree and a Secret Deal
A red dragon herald arrives at the Elf Palace, demanding a royal princess to marry Dragon King Darius. Vesper throws a fit and threatens to disfigure herself with scissors to avoid the dreaded match. King Cyrus points out Seraphina is already betrothed to Wolf King Alaric. Seraphina steps up and offers an unexpected deal. She will marry the Dragon King if Cyrus returns the lands and jewelry left by her late mother, Queen Freya. Cyrus agrees. Knowing Alaric's affection is fake, Seraphina cuts her emotional ties to him.
EP 2: Uncovering the Wolf King's Deceit
Seraphina looks back on how Alaric saved her from wolves and promised she would be his only Luna. Her illusions died when she carried wedding flowers to the forest. There, she overheard Alaric confessing to his mother Elena that he loves Vesper and is merely using Seraphina as a disposable shield for war. She also recalls how Vesper stole her mother's dragon scale pendant three years ago, leading Cyrus to strike Seraphina. Touching her scarred cheek, Seraphina vows to recover her mother's relics.
EP 3: The Stolen Savior
Alaric paints a portrait of the mystery woman who pulled him from the raging Shattered Sea. The figure lacks a face, showing only a distinct dragon scale pendant. His mother Elena questions how he can be sure Vesper was his savior when he never saw her face in the water. Alaric recalls visiting the Elf Kingdom and spotting the necklace around Vesper's neck. A flashback shows Seraphina was the one who plunged into the sea. Vesper stole the jewelry afterward to claim Alaric's eternal devotion.
EP 4: Gifts of the Dragon King
Guards haul chests of glowing gems and sacred water into the grand hall. They are wedding gifts sent directly by Dragon King Darius. The display surprises Seraphina and makes her question the rumors surrounding him. Alaric arrives on the terrace to present bridal jewelry and the Luna crown. He immediately asks why Vesper is missing, suggesting he wants matching items made for her. Seraphina hides her disgust. She hugs him and pretends to be pleased, mocking his scheme to sacrifice her.
EP 5: The Luna Crown Surrendered
Alaric takes both princesses to a royal jewelry boutique. Manager Valentina presents a fire-spirit ruby crown meant strictly for the future Luna, alongside an ice crystal crown. Both sisters ask for the ruby headpiece. Vesper bursts into tears, lamenting her half-breed heritage to earn sympathy. Alaric scolds Seraphina for being cruel. Seraphina hands the ruby crown over to her sister without fighting. Alaric stands stunned by her complete lack of attachment just as a sudden flash of light erupts.
EP 6: Branded in the Dungeon
Seraphina crowns Vesper with the ruby headpiece, leaving Alaric uneasy. A rogue werewolf leader named Kane shatters the gallery doors, overpowers Alaric, and takes both princesses hostage. In the dungeon, Kane ties both women to crosses and threatens to burn the beast slave mark into their skin. Forced to pick one, Alaric frees Vesper. Seraphina screams in agony as a red-hot iron burns the letter S onto her cheek. Vesper smirks over Alaric's shoulder while tucked safely in his arms.
EP 7: Two Days Left
Seraphina wakes with a bandaged face. Vesper mocks her slave brand and admits she staged the abduction to test Alaric. Seraphina demands her mother's dragon scale back. Vesper hurls the pendant into the fireplace and throws herself onto the floor. Seraphina burns her hands pulling the relic from the coals. Alaric rushes into the room. Vesper claims Seraphina pushed her into the flames. Refusing to hear any defense, Alaric calls Seraphina cruel and carries Vesper out. Seraphina counts down two days until departure.
EP 8: The Masked Assailant
Vesper complains to Alaric about slow healing, hinting that pureblood elf magic would mend her injuries instantly. Seraphina watches their intimate exchange through the palace garden window. A masked figure ambushes Seraphina from behind and drags her into a dark dungeon. The captor chains her to a stone pillar, demanding her magical power for Vesper. Seraphina looks at his collar and spots the handmade crescent moon brooch she once crafted for Alaric. Her heart breaks as she realizes her fiancé is her torturer.
EP 9: Severed Wings and Broken Vows
Alaric demands that Seraphina admit to harming Vesper and surrender her magical energy. Seraphina maintains her innocence and refuses to bend. Alaric extends his wolf claws and tears her pureblood wings from her back to siphon her spirit roots. Agony overwhelms Seraphina as blood covers the floor. Though Alaric feels a strange pang of remorse, he takes the magic anyway. Lying broken in the cell, Seraphina tells him their bond is finished and declares they are now sworn enemies.
EP 10: The Dragon Legion Mobilizes
Beside a magma river, an armored scout tells the giant dragon that Alaric broke Princess Seraphina's wings. Enraged, the beast mobilizes the Dragon Legion, shifts into his human form as Darius, and vows to claim his Queen himself. Seraphina awakens in her quarters with Alaric holding her hand. He blames dragon soldiers for her injuries and gives her a ruby necklace. Seraphina plays along and promises him a wedding surprise for the following morning, hiding cold fury in her eyes.
EP 11: The Procession Begins
In the royal dressing room, Vesper mocks the Dragon King as ugly and cursed while admiring Seraphina's bridal crown. Both sisters finish their attire for the double wedding. Across the realm, Alaric prepares his horsemen in the pack square. His mother urges him to value Seraphina, but he rides off calling for his Luna. Elena notes privately that Alaric has fallen hopelessly in love with Seraphina without admitting it to himself, worried he will realize his true feelings too late.
EP 12: The Wedding Day Swap
Both brides wait on the palace steps. Alaric arrives on a white horse, kisses the hand of the white-veiled bride, and leads her into his carriage. High above, dragons fill the sky. Dragon King Darius descends in human form, lifts Seraphina into his arms, and takes flight on his dragon mount. Inside the coach, Alaric spots Seraphina flying away. He lifts his bride's veil and finds Vesper smiling at him. Realizing his blunder, Alaric leaps into the road, screaming desperately for the dragons to halt.
