Seraphina enters and offers to marry Darius instead, on the condition that King Cyrus returns her late mother Freya's inheritance. Queen Liora persuades Cyrus to accept. As Vesper asks if Seraphina will regret losing Wolf King Alaric, Seraphina silently ends her devotion to him.

Episode 1 Scene by Scene

  1. 00:00: The Dragon Messenger Arrives

    Dragons fly above the palace while citizens panic in the streets below. A Dragon Messenger unrolls an imperial decree from Dragon King Darius, formally demanding an elven princess to marry the dragon monarch and secure peace between their realms.

  2. 00:15: Vesper Refuses the Dragon Marriage

    Vesper panics in the throne room and grabs scissors, threatening to mutilate her face rather than marry Darius. King Cyrus tries to calm her, stating that Seraphina cannot take her place because she is already betrothed to Wolf King Alaric.

  3. 01:00: Seraphina Proposes a Marriage Swap

    Seraphina walks into the hall and offers to wed Darius instead. She proposes that Vesper marry Alaric, demanding that Cyrus return all of Queen Freya's maternal inheritance, including the dragon scale necklace, before she leaves.

  4. 02:02: Queen Liora Convinces the King

    Queen Liora steps in and urges Vesper and Cyrus to agree to the proposal for political safety. Cyrus accepts the arrangement and loudly praises Seraphina for her sacrifice, while Seraphina silently looks at him with utter contempt.

  5. 02:48: Flashback to Freya and Magic Siphoning

    Seraphina remembers her mother Freya dying in bed. Immediately after Freya died, Cyrus moved his mistress Liora and daughter Vesper into the palace. Later, Cyrus forcibly drained Seraphina of her magical energy and transferred it into Vesper.

  6. 03:23: Ending Her Devotion to Alaric

    Vesper asks Seraphina whether she will regret walking away from Wolf King Alaric. Seraphina does not answer out loud, but she resolves within her mind that Alaric's love was completely fake, deciding that her devotion to him is over.
