I just finished watching Nearsighted in the Monster Shelter: The Wolf King Craves Me on Stillpointe, and the premise had me hooked immediately. The story starts with a very relatable accident that spirals into complete fantasy chaos. Emma is a veterinary intern who breaks her thick -16.00 glasses on the bus ride over to her new job. Her cousin Fiona runs the facility, so Emma stumbles right in without seeing anything clearly. The catch is that this is an S-level dungeon full of bloodthirsty creatures, not a standard pet rescue.
Because everything is an indistinct blur, Emma views every terrifying beast as a regular domestic pet. Ferocious monsters roar at her, and she assumes they just need treats, grooming, or basic medical care. Her calm demeanor completely baffles the other shelter workers. Even when an alert warns that an unidentified S-level entity has entered the grounds, Emma is just checking on the cages with her medicine cart.
The real fun begins when she meets Silas, the legendary Silver Wolf King locked behind the heavy vault doors of the facility. She nicknames him Big White and talks to him like a standard house dog. Silas has never let anyone near him, but Emma reaches right out to rub his forehead and scrub him down with warm water. Watching an ancient ruler get flustered by a woman trying to handle routine veterinary tasks makes this show a blast to follow.
Episode List
Nearsighted in the Monster Shelter: The Wolf King Craves Me Episode Guide
EP 1: A Blurry First Day
Emma breaks her glasses on the bus and arrives at the S-level monster shelter barely able to see. She mistakes a giant serpent for a regular snake and ignores an Orc guard's baton. Shelter Director Fiona lets her settle in. A dungeon system flags Emma as an unknown identity after she calms a beast's claw with a gentle touch. Emma meets roommates Lily, Vera, and Ginger, assuming their tails and wings are cosplay. A dangerous Shadow Raven chick rubs affectionately against her cheek.
EP 2: Good Boy in Zone A
Emma speaks through a sealed door to Silas, mistaking the glowing beast for a lovely dog and patting his forehead gem. Silas transforms into human form, surprised by her lack of fear. Director Fiona sends Emma to vaccinate Zone A. Emma encounters an aggressive lightning rhino in the corridor. Without hesitating, she lands a syringe dead-center into the creature's mana core. The onlooking residents watch in complete shock as the raging beast calms down instantly from her single shot.
EP 3: Chow Time
A hellhound erupts in flames and breaks loose in the hallway. Emma assumes it has a fever, gives it an injection, and scoops it up like a puppy. She visits Silas next, and the giant wolf extends his paw beneath the door slot for treatment. He asks if she will return tomorrow, and she promises daily rounds. In the yard, Emma calls out chow time. Armored lightning rhinos line up obediently to eat from the troughs beside her.
EP 4: The Shy Little Lizard
Emma feeds dog food to a weak cub, which briefly evolves into a giant roaring monster before shrinking back down. Meanwhile, a team of human players led by Mark teleports near the shelter gates. Their system warns them of an unidentified S-level entity, so they plan to pose as interns for 72 hours. Mark encounters Emma pushing her medical cart. When a caged crocodile monster roars at the terrified newcomers, Emma smiles and tells them the little lizard is simply shy.
EP 5: Bath Day for Monsters
Emma gives Mark's squad a tour and lets an S-level black panther out of its cage for treats and petting. Mark concludes Emma is an elite player or a top-tier dungeon NPC. Silas steps out in human form, flashing glowing eyes and SSS-level threats to warn Mark to keep Emma happy. Mark sweats with dread. Outside, Emma hooks up a hose for bath day and washes colossal armored beasts that submit peacefully to the soapy water.
EP 6: Knocking on Zone B
Emma climbs on the back of a Thunderhorn Rhino to scrub it clean, then blow-dries a purring black panther. Staff members warn her to stay away from the steaming hot pool that belongs to the dreaded Silver Wolf Lord. Emma ignores the danger and heads to Zone B. She knocks on the heavy vault door to ask Big White if he wants a bath. Silas agrees to step out, and the massive security door unlocks before her.
EP 7: Courtship in the Yard
Silas steps through the open vault door into the grooming area. Emma dries his face and combs his white fur, while onlookers gawk as the ancient wolf wags his tail. Silas asks if she fears him, and she calls him a good boy. Silas wraps his fluffy tail around Emma's waist to share her warmth. The cat-eared onlooker realizes the feared wolf king is openly courting their nearsighted intern, while Emma remains completely unaware.
EP 8: The Surgery Order
Emma informs her cousin Fiona that she plans to neuter the big dog in Zone B to keep him from getting aggressive. She prepares her surgical tools and brings a syringe directly to Silas's cell. Silas appears in his giant wolf form and furiously refuses the operation. His anger sparks red warning lights and a full shelter riot among the caged beasts. Director Fiona rushes down with paperwork and revokes the surgery order just in time.
EP 9: Night Patrol in Zone C
Emma heads out for solo night patrol despite warnings from her roommates. She chats with a creature's slimy tongue poking through slot A03 before Silas appears in wolf form. Emma invites Big White to walk the halls with her. Her worried roommates tail them from the shadows. Emma unlatches the locked doors leading straight into Zone C. Giant wolf heads snarl in the darkness, but Emma shushes them and strolls inside with Silas by her side.
