Later, Emma pets dangerous beasts in the courtyard and attracts a Shadow Raven chick.

Episode 1 Scene by Scene

  1. 00:00: Arrival at the Shelter

    Emma arrives at the shelter after breaking her thick glasses on the bus ride. Without clear vision, she spots a massive serpent behind metal bars. She happily walks toward the cage and treats the giant creature like an ordinary pet.

  2. 00:35: Confrontation at the Gates

    An Orc guard blocks Emma with his baton before she reaches the cage. Emma introduces herself as Fiona's cousin without reacting to his imposing posture. The guard stands frozen in place, baffled by her total absence of fear.

  3. 00:54: Meeting with Director Fiona

    Emma meets her cousin Fiona in the director's office. She asks Fiona for a replacement pair of glasses to help her see. Fiona grants her request and allows her new intern to settle into the shelter staff quarters.

  4. 01:44: A Claw in the Corridor

    A deer-horned staff member escorts Emma through the dark corridor. A monstrous arm punches through a sealed door, terrifying the guide. Emma calmly pats the sharp claw instead of running away, triggering an unknown identity error from the dungeon system.

  5. 02:29: Moving into the Staff Dorm

    Emma enters the dormitory and meets her new roommates, Lily, Vera, and Ginger. She assumes their wings, reptilian scales, and cat ears are makeup effects. Emma passes out personal snacks to the trio, leaving the three non-human workers thoroughly confused.

  6. 03:18: Sleeping Through the Beast Battles

    Wild monsters battle violently in the courtyard during the night. Emma listens to the loud crashes and complains about the thin walls. She falls fast asleep in her bed while Lily, Vera, and Ginger watch her with open disbelief.

    Emma tours the outdoor pens alongside her roommates. She fearlessly strokes an armored rhino and a black panther through their enclosures. A dangerous Shadow Raven chick suddenly flies over, lands on Emma's shoulder, and gently nuzzles against her cheek.
