Clara holds Maya close through the night after Julian locked her out. At six, she silences her alarm and rests until nine instead of handling trust chores. Julian bursts in because urgent notifications woke him up, offering her restored access. Clara freezes her account instead, directs tasks to his assistant, and refuses Leo's donor dinner by presenting an appointment with a lawyer.
Clara cuddles Maya through the entire night following Julian's lockout. Her alarm rings at six in the morning, but she shuts it off. She rests until nine o'clock, completely ignoring her routine chores and Westwood Education Trust duties.
A disheveled Julian storms into the bedroom. Urgent capital notifications have woken him up early. He holds out his phone to Clara, pointing out that her trust access is active again, and expects her to return to work immediately.
Clara declines Julian's restored access and launches the trust app. She submits an official request to freeze her own account. Then, she configures an auto-reply system that routes every incoming trust task directly to Julian's personal assistant.
Clara selects clothes for Maya while Julian commands her to attend a donor dinner for Leo's school. Clara flatly declines to go. When Julian presses her on the matter, she presents her calendar booking with an attorney.
“Look carefully. Your access has been restored. Now get up and deal with your work.”
“From now on, all trust related matters will be automatically forwarded to your assistant.”
“I have an appointment with a lawyer.”
“A lawyer? Over something this small? Clara, do you know what you're doing?”
Julian stands in the bedroom, stunned and furious after seeing Clara's scheduled legal appointment. He shouts at her, demanding to know if she realizes what she is doing over a simple lockout. Clara remains calm and continues helping Maya get dressed. How will Julian react when Clara actually walks into that lawyer's office to discuss their marriage?
