Julian storms out after issuing a warning to Clara. Clara fixes breakfast for Maya and takes her out to an art gallery. When Julian calls from Mass General demanding she visit Leo for a twisted ankle, Clara tells him to notify Leo's mother instead. She hangs up on him. At the house, Clara and Maya find Julian, Eleanor, Leo with a cast, and Mr. Rosenberg waiting in the living room.
Julian tells Clara that she will regret her actions. He warns her directly about the consequences of her choices. After speaking, he walks out of the bedroom and slams the door shut behind him.
Clara prepares pancakes for Maya, and they spend the afternoon at an art gallery. Julian rings her phone, demanding she rush to Mass General for Leo's sprained ankle. Clara refuses, tells him to send Eleanor instead, and ends the call.
Clara pulls Maya into a warm embrace inside the gallery. She thinks back to the trips to Paris that Julian promised Maya. Julian repeatedly called off those vacations whenever Leo asked to travel somewhere else instead.
Clara and Maya arrive home to discover Leo resting on the sofa with a cast. Julian and Eleanor stand beside him, while Mr. Rosenberg stands near them with papers. Leo whines about Clara enjoying her day, and Eleanor lectures her.
“You will pay for the decision you're making now.”
“Have his mother go. I'm not his mother.”
“Julian, haven't you always thought I don't do enough for Leo? Then now you can see what truly not caring looks like.”
“Clara, I know you're not Leo's mother, but no matter what, we are still a family.”
Clara and Maya step into their living room to see Leo, Julian, Eleanor, and Mr. Rosenberg gathered together. Leo whines about their outing while Eleanor lectures Clara about family unity.
