Episode: 1
Don Adrian Moretti kneels before his pregnant wife Ava during a party. He demands she give her heart to save Chloe Frost, brushing aside their unborn child. Chloe then laughs and reveals the match was just a joke. While the men laugh, Ava quietly uses her phone to book an induced labor procedure. After his men speak up for Chloe, Adrian softens, wipes away Chloe's tears, and completely ignores Ava.
In front of his crew, Adrian drops to his knees before Ava. He tells her that Chloe needs her heart for surgery immediately. When Ava says she is three months from giving birth, Adrian says they can have another baby.
Chloe laughs and announces that there was never a medical match. She claims it was a joke. The other men chuckle along with her. Ava stays seated on the couch and quietly books an induced labor appointment for tomorrow.
Adrian stands up with a dark look on his face. An attendee points out that Adrian once harmed a man for disrespecting Ava, warning Chloe she crossed the line. Chloe begins crying and offers an apology to the boss.
Adrian's subordinates remind him of Chloe's past sacrifice and urge him not to punish her over a joke. Adrian relaxes. He gently dries Chloe's tears and warns her not to do it again, leaving Ava alone in the back.
“Chloe's a match for your heart. The surgery can't wait any longer.”
“The baby, we can have another one.”
“Boss, there was never actually a match. I was messing with you. I didn't think you'd actually go and beg Mrs Moretti.”
“Don't make jokes like that again.”
Adrian forgives Chloe, wiping her face while his crew watches. He pays no attention to Ava sitting alone with her phone after scheduling her labor procedure. Will Ava carry out the secret medical appointment the next morning, or will Adrian realize what his wife is planning before she terminates the pregnancy?
