Ava carries fruit into Adrian's study and spots a cheap pen from Chloe Frost kept safely behind glass. Overwhelmed with anger, Ava breaks the display case and dumps the pen. Adrian rushes to salvage it and reprimands her. When Ava confronts him, Adrian admits he cares for Chloe and feels nothing kissing his wife. He offers to stay married only if Ava accepts Chloe.
Ava walks through the mansion hallway. She looks back on her marriage and remembers how she used to make excuses for Adrian Moretti whenever he showed a complete lack of sentimentality toward her.
Ava brings a bowl of fruit to the study and finds Chloe's cheap pen inside a locked display. Ava shatters the glass and tosses the pen into the bin. Adrian rushes over, rescues the pen, and reprimands Ava.
Ava pushes Adrian to swear he does not love Chloe. Adrian refuses to lie and confirms his romantic feelings for Chloe instead. He explains her appeal and admits that kissing Ava after eleven years stirs no excitement in him.
Adrian calmly lights a cigar while Ava stands weeping before him. He tells her she can retain her status as his wife, but only on the condition that she accepts Chloe Frost holding the only place in his heart.
“Yes. I have feelings for her. But we haven't slept together, and we won't. You don't need to act like you've been devastated.”
“Ava, we've been together for eleven years. There's no excitement left. To put it bluntly, kissing you, I don't feel anything anymore.”
“As long as you're willing, the title of Mrs Moretti will always be yours. But you have to accept that she's the only one in my heart.”
The episode concludes with Adrian sitting back and smoking a cigar while Ava stands there in tears after his confession. He makes his stance clear about keeping Chloe in his heart forever. Can Ava really accept these humiliating terms and stay married to a husband who feels nothing for her?
