Dean disarms the blonde student holding a bat, takes him down, and releases Anna Kowalski from the chair. He blows his whistle, introducing himself to the crowd as Drayton Academy's new PE teacher and Elias Thorne's fiancé. When the blonde boy insults Elias, Dean forces him to his knees and slaps him unconscious. Victoria Ashford stops him with fake tears, but Dean spots a familiar skeleton mechanical watch on her wrist.
Dean disarms the blonde male student holding the baseball bat and sends him to the turf. He walks over to Anna Kowalski immediately and unties her from the wooden chair on the sports field.
Dean blows his whistle sharply to get everyone's attention across the field. He addresses the gathered teenagers directly, stating his name and declaring that he is both their new physical education teacher and Elias Thorne's fiancé.
The blonde bully speaks vulgar lies about Elias Thorne to Dean's face. Dean grabs the boy, forces him straight down to his knees on the grass, and knocks him out cold with a single hard slap.
Victoria Ashford steps in to stop Dean from striking the fallen boy again. She puts on an emotional display, weeping openly while claiming that Elias Thorne was actually a sick predator who assaulted her.
Dean looks down and spots a skeleton mechanical watch resting on Victoria Ashford's wrist. A flashback shows Elias telling Dean he bought that timepiece for a kind, shy student. Dean directly asks Victoria how she obtained it.
“I'm Dean Vance, your new PE teacher. I'm also Elias's fiancé.”
“I'm here to teach you two things. Life... and violence.”
“I still can't understand how the teacher I admired could turn into a sick man who would assault me.”
“This watch... Where did you get it?”
Dean stares at the skeleton mechanical watch on Victoria Ashford's wrist, knowing Elias originally bought it for someone shy and kind. He grimly demands to know where she got it. Did Victoria take the gift from the intended student, or will her answer expose more lies about what happened to Elias?
