Episode: 7
At dinner, Dolores Keane serves a large pile of ground meat to Evan Cole. Evan's girlfriend notices the strange favoritism. Earlier, she discovered blood beneath a painting and bloody tape in the trash. Julian Vale confronts her in the corridor, prompting her to plan an early ferry ride with Evan. At night, she creeps upstairs to spy. Julian and Dolores trap her on the staircase, and Julian injects a sedative into her neck.
Dolores Keane serves a massive mound of ground meat at dinner. She favors Evan Cole while handing out portions. Evan's girlfriend sits at the table and observes the housekeeper's behavior with suspicion.
In a flashback to the previous day, Evan's girlfriend spots blood dripping beneath a painting. She then finds bloody tape inside a trash bin. She warns Evan Cole that something is wrong and says they must leave.
Evan's girlfriend asks Dolores Keane where the ground meat came from. Dolores smiles and claims relatives send shipments from the mountains every year. Evan continues eating while his girlfriend watches Dolores closely.
In a flashback, Evan's girlfriend finds something disturbing inside her camera after mentioning her new photo club. Shaken by the discovery, she writes a warning note and slips the paper under Evan Cole's bedroom door.
Julian Vale corners and intimidates Evan's girlfriend in the corridor. Following the encounter, she speaks firmly to Evan Cole. She tells him they must take the very first ferry away from the island the next morning.
At two in the morning, Evan's girlfriend slips out of her bedroom. She quietly creeps up the dark staircase to spy on Julian Vale and Dolores Keane as they move about the upper floor of the house.
Julian Vale corners the girlfriend on the upper landing while holding two mugs, offering to tell her Evan's story. She turns and flees downstairs, but Dolores Keane blocks the staircase exit with a bowl of soup.
Evan's girlfriend grabs a flowerpot from the staircase to defend herself. Before she can strike, Julian Vale grabs her from behind. He drives a syringe into her neck, and the sedative quickly knocks her unconscious.
Julian Vale drags the unconscious woman down the stairwell. He pauses outside Evan Cole's bedroom door to whisper a quiet good night. Then, Julian pulls her limp body across the floor into a dark concrete cellar.
“Evan. This house is full of wrong small things. One more day. Then we go.”
“Relatives from the mountains sent it. They do every year.”
“Come in. You want to hear his story too, don't you?”
“Good night, Evan.”
Julian Vale drags Evan's girlfriend down into the dark concrete cellar after sedating her on the stairs, walking right past Evan's closed bedroom door. Will Evan Cole discover that his girlfriend is trapped beneath the house before Julian harms her, or will he believe Julian's cover story and miss his chance to take the morning ferry with her?
