Eliza thanks Julian Vance, who responds with a cruel command. He orders her to obey his demands or forfeit her son. Later, Julian's companion questions Eliza's presence, but Julian declares his intent to exact vengeance.
Leo opens his eyes and wraps his arms around Eliza Thorne in the bedroom. The doctor announces that the boy is healing well from the transfusion. Leo tells Eliza that his father and the nurse helped save his life.
Julian Vance approaches the bed, and Eliza Thorne offers her gratitude for his help. Julian dismisses her kindness with cold words. He tells Eliza that she owes him everything, ordering her to stay put and obey his rules.
In the study, the Companion hands Julian Vance a drink and questions Eliza Thorne's presence. She brings up the past hospital abandonment to provoke him. Julian silences her and declares his plan to enact total revenge on Eliza.
“You stay here, and you behave, otherwise, you'll never see your son again.”
“I don't have feelings for her. Only hate.”
“Keeping her here is for revenge, to make her suffer. She owes me. And I'm gonna make her pay every last bit.”
Julian stands alone by the large panoramic window in his office. He stares out into the dark, resolved to make Eliza pay for every ounce of his past pain. How far will Julian go to punish Eliza, and can she protect Leo while trapped under Julian's roof?
