Episode: 2
King Kael threatens Ava with a sword, but baby Knox wraps his tail around her wrist. Ava proves the pin harming the prince belongs to Lady Maris. When Knox wails at Kael's stench, Ava tells the king his cloak carries irritating beast repellent grass. Kael burns the cloak, and Knox snuggles him. Ava wagers one day to nurse Knox for gold coins. When Knox refuses milk, Ava warns that the drink is bad.
King Kael points his blade at Ava's neck for touching the baby prince. Knox immediately curls his small tail firmly around Ava's wrist. The infant refuses to let go, preventing the king from striking her down.
Lady Maris claims Ava brought the sharp brooch into the room. Ava turns the metal pin over and points out Maris's engraved name. A dragon noblewoman with golden horns steps forward and scolds Maris for her clumsy lie.
Knox bursts into tears again. Ava overhears the baby thinking that his brother stinks. She tells King Kael that his war cloak carries traces of beast repellent grass, which severely burns Knox's sensitive nose.
King Kael commands his guards to burn the offensive cloak on the spot. With the harsh scent gone from the room, baby Knox stops crying. The little prince reaches out and happily nestles into Kael's chest.
Ava introduces herself to the court. She offers a wager: give her one day to help Knox in exchange for a thousand gold coins. Kael accepts the bet but warns he will banish Ava and Maris if Knox stays sick.
Maris offers Knox a bottle of milk to calm him down. Knox gags, grabs his upset belly, and swats the bottle away. Ava inspects the container, turns to the king, and states that the milk is unsafe.
“Give me one reason to spare you.”
“Your cloak has beast repellent grass on it. His nose is ten times more sensitive than an adult's.”
“Deal. One day. A thousand gold coins. If Knox doesn't get better, you and Maris both leave.”
“Wait. Something's wrong with the milk.”
Knox violently swats the milk bottle away from Maris while clutching his upset stomach. Ava inspects the bottle closely and declares that something is wrong with the liquid inside. King Kael glares at the room with deep suspicion. What dangerous ingredient is inside the prince's milk, and will Maris face punishment for feeding it to him?
