Episode: 5
Clara Santos and Gabriel Costa arrive at the civil registry to marry. Gabriel receives his documents from an assistant in a luxury car, brushing off the encounter as an inside joke. Outside the building, they run into Kevin Duarte and Vanessa Torres. Vanessa flaunts her engagement ring, but Clara exposes it as a fake. Vanessa slaps Kevin, cancels their wedding, and attacks Clara, but Gabriel intercepts her.
Clara and Gabriel get ready to step into the registry. A luxury car stops nearby, and an assistant steps out calling Gabriel his boss. After taking his marriage papers, Gabriel dismisses the man and claims the title is just a private joke.
Gabriel quickly steers Clara toward the entrance doors to avoid further questions. Behind them, the dismissed assistant climbs back into his car. He complains aloud about Gabriel throwing him under the bus and risking Ricardo Costa's wrath for delivering the papers.
Clara and Gabriel run into Kevin and Vanessa outside the building. Vanessa displays her large engagement ring and brags about its cost. Clara looks at the jewel, points out flaws in the cut, and openly calls out Kevin for buying a cheap imitation.
Vanessa hits Kevin across the face in front of the building, refusing to wed him without an authentic diamond. She then charges toward Clara in anger. Gabriel immediately steps between them, grabs Vanessa's arm, and warns her not to touch Clara.
“Boss, if the president finds out I delivered your marriage papers to some random woman he'll kill me!”
“Kevin Duarte, why would you give your meal ticket a fake diamond?”
“If I don't get a real diamond, we're not getting married today.”
“Touch my wife and see what happens.”
The episode ends outside the registry with Vanessa charging forward to strike Clara. Gabriel steps into her path and fiercely warns her to back away from his wife. Will Kevin and Vanessa escalate the confrontation right on the registry steps, or will Gabriel and Clara successfully walk inside to complete their official marriage paperwork?
