Ethan tries to touch Nora Bennett's bruised forehead, but she pulls away. He yells that he is not cheating and drives to a mall. While parked, Ethan receives a call from a contact with a blue sky avatar. He steps out and smiles during the conversation. Ethan claims he must meet a client. Nora asks him to stay, but he sends her 100,000 and leaves. Nora walks into the mall alone and stares at a tarot card.
Ethan reaches out to check Nora's bruised head after the abrupt stop, but she shrinks away from him. Ethan shouts his innocence and steps on the gas as horns honk behind them. Nora sits quietly and cries.
Ethan pulls the car into an underground parking space for dinner. Nora sits beside him and remembers Chloe Reed recommending this exact restaurant earlier. Nora wonders silently if Ethan was the person who went with Chloe there.
Ethan's phone rings with an incoming call from a blue sky avatar. He quickly turns the screen downward and tells Nora it is work. He steps outside the vehicle, where Nora watches him grin and laugh into the receiver.
Ethan returns to the car and claims an important client needs him. Nora asks him to stay with her. Ethan pauses, sends 100,000 to her phone, says he will return late, and drives away without her.
Nora rides the elevator up into the crowded shopping mall by herself. She walks through the corridors and stops in front of an accessory store window. She stands there gazing directly at a display of The Lovers tarot card.
“Nora, how many times do I have to say it, I'm not cheating!”
“What if I asked you to stay?”
“Are you serious?”
“Don't start. Get yourself dinner. Buy whatever you want.”
Ethan drives away from the parking garage, leaving Nora behind with a money transfer on her phone. Nora rides the elevator into the crowded mall alone. She halts in front of an accessory shop display and stares intently at The Lovers tarot card. What will this tarot card remind Nora of next?
