Danny finds Ms. Brooks in the forest and helps her up. She orders him to search for the stranger who rode away on the giant boar. High on a sheer cliff, Leo uses his golden vision. He spots a five-hundred-year-old purple ginseng plant inside a rock fissure. He gathers the rare root and carries it to Evergreen Apothecary to make his first fortune. The apothecary manager, Shopkeeper Finch, scoffs at Leo's tattered clothes. Finch declares that if the root is genuine hundred-year wild ginseng, he will eat the store counter.
