Wen Yu turns away in tears and rejects Jiang Yanli in bed. Jiang Yanli takes his pillow and relocates to the guest bedroom. During her hospital shift the next day, Jiang Yanli texts her an invitation to eat together. She walks out of the clinic doors, but he calls to cancel by claiming emergency flight duty. She pushes a cart through a supermarket produce section alone. Unexpectedly, she hears his voice and sees him doting on pregnant Song Ci.

    Wen Yu steps outside the hospital entrance and answers an incoming call from Jiang Yanli. He claims that airline overtime forces him to cancel their dinner plans. Wen Yu feels disappointed, but she quietly agrees to eat on another day.

    Wen Yu shops for groceries by herself while pushing a cart. She hears Jiang Yanli gently instructing a pregnant woman to avoid eating lychees. Turning her head, she watches her husband attentively walking alongside a woman with a visible baby bump.
