Cynthia walks down the hallway and looks through a cracked door. Inside, she watches Vrontis and Nephele embracing in bed. Nephele feigns guilt over disrupting their marriage. Vrontis promises to do whatever it takes to heal her. Nephele hugs him and smirks directly at Cynthia.

    Cynthia reads quietly in her room, noting that Vrontis has not spoken to her in two days. A palace maid arrives with an urgent message. She tells Cynthia that Lord Vrontis requires her presence in the main hall right away.

    Cynthia walks along the corridor and looks through a cracked door. She finds Vrontis and Nephele embracing in bed. Nephele pretends to worry about their marriage, but smiles mockingly right at Cynthia as Vrontis promises his devotion.
