Ivy lies chained to a bed in her wedding gown. A noblewoman in a dark dress casts a soundproofing spell and orders her maids to torture Ivy. One maid drives an iron spike through Ivy's hand, causing her to scream. Outside in the colonnade, King Liam walks past with attendants, completely unaware. Back inside the room, the noblewoman taunts Ivy and unleashes burning magic right at her face.
Ivy remains bound to the bed in her wedding gown. The noblewoman in the dark dress explains that magical soundproofing seals the room. She ignores Ivy's protests about the Queen Dowager and commands her maids to begin torturing the new queen.
The maids hold Ivy down against the mattress. One maid positions an iron spike directly against Ivy's hand and strikes it with a hammer. The metal pierces straight through her flesh, and Ivy screams out in severe pain.
King Liam walks calmly along the palace colonnade accompanied by court attendants. He strolls through the open corridor in total silence. Because of the soundproofing spell on the bedchamber, he does not hear any of Ivy's desperate cries.
The noblewoman leans over Ivy and ridicules her appearance. She gathers blazing magic in her hands and aims it directly at Ivy's face to disfigure her. Ivy screams in terror as the fiery spell surges toward her defenseless eyes.
“You can't do this! The Queen Mother personally chose me to be queen. If she finds out you've hurt me, she'll throw every one of you out of the palace!”
“Sweetheart, did you forget that healing magic exists? I could torture you to the edge of death today, then heal every mark before anyone ever saw you.”
“I've soundproofed the room with magic. Scream as loud as you want. No one is coming to save you today.”
“Such a pretty little face. So helpless. But without that face, what will you use to tempt His Majesty?”
The noblewoman casts fiery magic straight at Ivy's face while Ivy screams in helpless agony on the bed. Liam remains elsewhere in the palace, unaware that his wife is being brutalized behind magically sealed doors. Will someone break the soundproofing spell to rescue Ivy before the burning magic permanently disfigures her?
