Grace scratches Ivy's cheek with a sharp nail in the bedchamber. Ivy stands her ground and tells Grace that Liam could never love a cruel person. Enraged, Grace uses magic to break Ivy's chains and traps her inside a suspended water bubble. Meanwhile, Liam races through the palace corridors with his guards. Ivy begins to drown and loses consciousness as Liam kicks open the door and commands Grace to stop.
Grace uses her sharp fingernail to slash Ivy's cheek. Blood runs down Ivy's face as she screams in agony. Despite the pain, Ivy mocks Grace, stating that King Liam would never fall in love with someone so twisted.
King Liam rushes through the palace hallways with urgent strides. Armed guards and a royal attendant follow closely behind him. They hurry up a flight of stairs toward the west wing as Liam tries to reach the bedroom in time.
Furious at Ivy's defiance, Grace shatters the metal chains binding the bed using magic. She lifts Ivy into the air and envelops her head and torso in a floating sphere of water. Ivy chokes and struggles against the rising fluid.
Ivy begins to lose consciousness inside the water sphere, and her hairpin drops from her sleeve onto the floor. King Liam crashes through the bedchamber doors at that exact second, shouting at Grace to cease the attack immediately.
“Even if His Majesty doesn't want me, he could never love someone as cruel, vicious, and twisted as you. You'll spend your whole life chasing a fantasy!”
“You're nothing but a rat hiding in the dark. If you've got the guts, do it!”
“Give you exactly what you asked for.”
“Stop!”
Liam smashes through the bedroom doors and shouts for the torment to stop just as Ivy blacks out inside the suspended water bubble. A hairpin falls from her sleeve onto the floor. Will Liam manage to break Grace's spell and save Ivy before she drowns, and will he notice the fallen hairpin?
