Nell and a local blacksmith fail to lift the heavy sword from the floor, but Maeve picks it up easily. She carries it to the Everhart shop to sell as an ancient blade. A man with dark tentacles bursts in and attacks. Maeve fights him off while Nell shields a young boy. Temple Knight Cassia Morcant subdues the creature with magic. Outside, an infected mob holding the same medicine bottles surrounds them.
Nell and a local blacksmith pull on the sword resting on Maeve's bedroom floor, but neither can budge it. Maeve walks over and lifts the weapon effortlessly with a single hand while Nell questions where she got it.
Maeve balances the weapon across her shoulder and walks down the street. She enters the Everhart shop, greets the assistant, and writes a price tag labeling the weapon as an Ancient Blade to sell for profit.
A mutated man with dark tentacles growing from his back smashes into the building. Maeve raises her blade to block the violent strikes, shouting at Nell to lead a frightened young boy away to safety.
Temple Knight Cassia Morcant charges through the entrance and casts magic to stop the rampaging creature. She inspects a fallen medicine bottle the man dropped, then turns to question Maeve about the origins of her blade.
Maeve and Cassia look out into the street as townspeople appear outside the storefront. The hollow-faced citizens clutch matching medicine bottles in their hands and begin marching directly toward the two women at the door.
“Tell me you didn't steal that.”
“Heavier than my anvil.”
“Where did you get this?”
“The medicine... It hollowed us out.”
The episode closes with Maeve and Cassia staring at a hollow-eyed mob advancing down the road, all holding vials of the toxic medicine. With Nell and a boy sheltered inside, can Maeve and Cassia hold back the swarm, or will the corrupted crowd overrun the shop before help arrives?
