Cole mocks Ryan on the sideline and expects an easy forfeit. Ryan arrives at the stadium in uniform alongside Aiden, who presents the doctor's paperwork. Coach clears Ryan to play, and both quarterbacks face off on the field.
Coach insists Ryan needs official clearance from the team doctor before playing. Ryan pleads his case, and Aiden promises to get the document. Coach schedules a scrimmage against Cole for the next morning to pick the starting quarterback.
Fans pack the stadium stands while Coach monitors the time on his watch. Cole stands on the sideline and mocks Ryan. He insists Ryan's injured leg will keep him away, assuming Ryan will forfeit the starting position.
Ryan walks out of the tunnel in full pads with Aiden, drawing loud cheers. Aiden hands the signed clearance paper to Coach for review. Coach permits Ryan to suit up, and Aiden offers words of encouragement to the quarterback.
Coach blows his whistle and announces the game between Team Ryan and Team Cole. Both units take their positions across the field. Ryan and Cole stare each other down across the line of scrimmage as the action kicks off.
“Tomorrow morning I'll hold an inter-squad scrimmage to decide whether you or Cole goes to the national championship.”
“Give it up, Ryan. That leg's shot. You really think you can take my spot?”
“Reporting Coach, starting quarterback Ryan. Put me in.”
“You're in. Go!”
“You've got this.”
Coach blows the whistle to launch the scrimmage between Team Ryan and Team Cole. The two quarterbacks lead their squads onto the turf and lock eyes in a tense standoff right before the snap.
