Episode: 4
Emma embraces Mom in the hallway and points out her own green light while mocking Stella's red glow. Dad suggests putting Stella into bed because of the freezing temperature. Mom reprimands him, claims Stella must face her mistakes, and locks the bedroom door from the outside. Inside the dark room, Stella's ghost hovers beside her corpse. A mouse runs across her body and bites her toe. Stella's spirit gently comforts her own remains.
Dad peers into the bedroom and asks about moving Stella to bed because the room is freezing. Mom snaps at him and refuses. Emma hugs Mom, flaunts her green light, and taunts Stella. Mom locks the door from the outside.
Stella's glowing ghost floats beside her motionless body. She mourns that Mom trusted a gadget over touching her cold paw. Later that night, a mouse scampers over Stella's corpse and nibbles her toe. Stella's spirit leans down to comfort herself.
“Look, my light's green. Hers is still red. She lies even in her sleep.”
“Should we put her in bed? It's freezing tonight.”
“The parenting experts say ignore it. She needs to sit with her mistakes.”
“Don't be scared. You can't feel it anymore. It'll be over soon.”
A mouse creeps over Stella's desk and bites the toe of her corpse. Stella feels no pain from the bite. Her glowing spirit leans over her motionless body and whispers comforting words into the dark. When morning comes, will anyone in the family unlock the door and discover that Stella is gone?
