A carriage arrives at Moon Shadow Castle under a full moon. Violet steps out into the courtyard, gazing at the stone fortress and pack banners. Victor's mother leads her inside the stone corridors. She explains that Victor was second in line to lead the pack before choosing a human existence. Violet listens in total disbelief because Victor never mentioned his werewolf origins. At the end of the hall, the Alpha stops before a family portrait. She introduces the painted image of Victor's younger brother, Edward.
