At a rogue camp, Cassian curses a thief, prompting a terrified witch to bind his vocal cords. Twenty years later, Alpha Kael and Luna Mira recognize his amulet and embrace him. Lucian quickly frames Cassian with vicious lies, prompting Luna Mira to strike her returned son.
A rogue ties five-year-old Cassian and Lily to a forest tree. Cassian loses his temper and speaks aloud. Forest shadows rise and rip the rogue to pieces. During the magical attack, the shadows accidentally hurt Lily.
Inside a rogue camp, Cassian watches a thieving rogue take goods. He curses the thief to die choking on greed. Frightened by his deadly voice, an old witch uses a silver rune ribbon to seal Cassian's throat completely.
Two decades later, Alpha Kael and Luna Mira notice the family amulet around Cassian's neck. They warmly welcome their biological son back to the castle. Cassian deliberately stays completely quiet so he does not bring harm to his parents.
Lucian cries inside the pack hall while resting against Seraphina. He falsely accuses Cassian of whispering lies across the land about Alpha Vexa and Rot infection. Hearing this slander, a furious Luna Mira knocks Cassian straight into a stone pillar.
“You will be torn to pieces by the shadows.”
“He would choke to death on his own greed.”
“Does Cassian hate me that much? He's been howling all over the territory, saying I bared my neck to Alpha Vexa of Nightfang and that I'm infected with Rot, that my scent is rotten.”
“Your brother is innocent! How could you slander him?”
Luna Mira hits Cassian with full force across the hall. He crashes hard against a stone pillar while his mother screams at him for slandering Lucian.
